Sedgling Nehalennia speciosa
Extremely rare. Only one population remains in Tammisaari (undisclosed location). Favours a certain type of brackish bay, with well-structured vegetation and low water level. Was more common, though still very rare, in Southern Coast in early 20th century, now practically extinct. A sole record from Helsinki in July 2006 is the only record of the species outside Tammisaari for over 25 years!
Flight period: June-August
Dreams come true. Male Sedling is tiny and delicate - don't confuse with Lestes spreadwings! Tommi Laurinsalo
