Note: For vernacular names, Finnish Dragonfly Society prefers the "new" English names, as introduced by Dijkstra & Lewington 2006. This is because many "old" English names, such as those in Brooks & Lewington 1997, are very vague in Northern Europe's context. Example: "White-Faced Dragonfly"' could refer to any of the five Leucorrhinia species, all of which have white faces, and "Norfolk Damselfly" is pretty bad name, since Norfolk is not in Finland and Coenagrion armatum is widely spread throughout Northern Europe.
